Dave EdgarDave Edgar – President
A life-long passion for building. This is what defines Iron Construction Co-Founder and President Dave Edgar’s construction philosophy. With over three decades of experience working in all aspects of construction, from Carpenter to Superintendant, Dave’s unprecedented knowledge and experience made starting his own company an obvious choice. “I wanted to start a company that focused on building, not bureaucracy. Working for large construction companies can be rewarding but sometimes you lose touch with the customer. At Iron I’m able to take a personal ownership of all our projects and see to it that the client’s needs are being met to their satisfaction.”

Dave began his construction career as a Carpenter. After earning a B.S. degree in Biology from Humboldt State University, Dave began working for J.A. Jones Construction, Inc. one of the world’s largest General Contractors. At J.A. Jones, Dave worked as General Superintendant for projects with budgets up to $250 million and up to 1 million square feet. Dave then moved to DPR Construction, Inc. where his background in biology was put to greater use as he focused on projects in the bio-life sciences realm.

Dave has worked on many high profile projects including Pelican Bay State Prison in California and the Beverly Hills Library and Police Station, but his work in the bio-life sciences and controlled spaces domain is where his expertise really shines. Dave has managed many projects for medical research and assembly facilities for clients ranging from Sun Microsystems to Genentech. It is this highly specialized knowledge that sets Dave apart from his peers and makes him one of the foremost bio-life science facilities experts in the country, and leader of Iron Construction’s Field Operations organization.

Building lasting customer relationships is one of the key goals at Iron Construction, and is one of Dave’s greatest areas of emphasis. “At Iron we are focused on long-term relationships with our clients. We never low bid jobs or take projects that won’t fit within our core values. We work hard to understand our customer’s needs and provide them with solutions that best fit their requirements” Dave is a member of ISPE (International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers) and enjoys golf and fishing in his spare time.
