Project: Genentech Critical Space Shutdown
This past December, Iron Construction completed one of its many controlled space shutdowns for its long-term client Genentech. This business critical time sensitive project needed to be completed in just 9 days and included:
- Temporary controlled space barrier systems to protect in-production critical core areas not included in the shut-down
- Complete corridor revamp between controlled spaces
- Coldroom upgrade including a new RTZ floor
- Auto sliding door upgrade at the critical core fill/lyo area
- Design and installation of a stainless steel corridor wear guard system
- Mechanical mezzanine floor painting and striping (50K sq. ft.), and painting all air handler units
- CIP skid upgrade
- General "cleanability" upgrade throughout the controlled space
The project was completed on schedule and involved coordinating multiple trades and college including stainless steel fabrication, flooring, epoxy, electrical, caulking and specialty doors.
